Please see the attached advice on parenting your matric son/daughter through their final exams this year. Henk’s advice is common sense but well worth repeating. I like the fact that he starts with parents acknowledging their own anxiety. What you don’t want to do is to make your child’s anxiety worse but there are other practical steps you can take to help him feel more in control.
From the BSU side we have helped quite a few matrics this year as they plan for their mocks. As always, mock matric helps students to refine their strategies and also to focus on what they still need to improve on. It also helps them to calm down when writing exams so they can give of their best.
